Ventuno brings modern Italian flavours to Helsinki
We have been planning a classy Italian restaurant of international standard already for long,” restaurateur Matti Wikberg from BW Resturants explains. Ventuno which opened its doors in September is a long- awaited dream come true.
Tomi Björck, the culinary mastermind of BW Restaurants, is behind the concept of Ventuno’s kitchen. “For ideas and inspiration, we have roamed the Italian provinces and global metropolises such as Rome, London and San Francisco. We give our own modern interpretations of traditional Italian flavours, yet always respectful of their authenticity and origin. The fresh ingredients come from trusted Finnish suppliers. However, products such as the cold cuts and the oils we order from Italy. We prepare our fresh pastas ourselves every morning. A genuine Neapolitan wood-fired oven lends its own particular aroma to the flavours of Ventuno. We do not use semi-processed products in our kitchen. This has always been the guiding idea in all BW restaurants, and still is,” Tomi Björck states.
Ventuno’s wine list, put together with love and passion, boasts the finest offerings of Italy’s wine-producing regions from both well-established and lesser known producers, all with a strong quality orientation.
Caffé, an Italian café within the same walls as the restaurant, serves breakfast in the mornings on weekdays and Saturdays. In addition to excellent coffee, it offers Italian-style sandwiches and other savoury and sweet treats baked on site.
A full-service restaurant, Ventuno is open nonstop from early morning to late night on weekdays and Saturdays for breakfast, lunch and dinner. On Sundays, the osteria opens its doors at noon for lunch and serves until the late evening hours.
